OUR FRIENDS

The Other Place

The Other Place is a collaborative space for community-led experimentation.

We launched as part of the Weston Community Hubs project and are currently funded by a grant from the government’s Community Renewal Fund. Our space is managed by Race Equality North Somerset (RENS), supported by the Community Weston Partners and the Meadow Collective.

Cleaner Coastlines

Back in October 2017, Weston-super-Mare’s Chamber of Commerce, together with the Weston Mercury, launched a Surfers Against Sewage campaign for Weston to become an approved Plastic-free community. As a dedicated group, we have been working hard to reduce the single-use plastic within our community.
Our Cleaner Coastlines campaign meant working with local government, businesses, schools, colleges and youth, church and community groups to help reduce the amount of single-use plastic in our town.

“I had been told that, due to a health condition, I could never work, but Renew makes it possible to help the community with my skills! It has changed my life!”
